ROBERT S. KATZ, M.D., F.A.C.E.P.

Dr. Katz was born and raised in New York and has been living in Florida for over 20 years. He is married with three children. He received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University. He then graduated from The University of Miami School of Medicine and went on to do his internship and residency in Emergency Medicine at The University of Connecticut.

In addition to his responsibilities as Associate Director of the Emergency Department at St. Josephs South, he acts as the Co-Medical Director of the SWAT Team for the Polk County Sheriff.

Dr. Katz is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and is trained in Tactical Emergency Medicine.

Prior to joining EMATB in February 2015 when St. Josephs South opened, Dr. Katz served as the Associate Medical Director of the ER at South Bay Hospital as well as Manatee Memorial Hospital and Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. Prior to this, he worked as an ER Physician at Brandon Regional Hospital and at Hartford Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, in Hartford, CT.
